Our Marbella IDC College is
the highest rated PADI dive center in Spain
– it is the only PADI 5* Career Development
Center and PADI Gold Palm 5* IDC Center
in Spain. In addition it is the first ever
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC dive center in Spain
and therefore joins the PADI – NATIONAL
GEOGRAPHIC VIP dive center club as its first
member. Divers are taught from beginner
level to instructor level and beyond.
Furthermore PADI Europe
is doing the Instructor Examinations at
IDC College because it is the only PADI
IE location in southern Spain.
All diver training is done to PADI's highest
5* level and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC strict
environmental rules. Divers and instructor
candidates can be sure that their training
will be done at the highest standard in
southern Spain.
All our staff are well trained and multi-lingual.
Instructional courses at all levels are
done in English, German, Spanish and French.
Instructor Development Courses & Instructor
Examination (IDC& IE) take place in
May and November 2008 at our IDC College's
premises.
Divng is Fun“ is the
slogan of IDC College, which take place
in the PRO DIVE „IDC Villa“.
The villa is situated in a
quiet residential area close to the dive
center and provides quietness and a perfect
studying atmosphere. The villa consists
of a total of 5 bedrooms, a big fully fitted
kitchen, a spacious living room, its own
pool and a separate building with an apartment
and outdoor BBQ area. Supermarket and restaurants
are in walking distance.
PRO DIVE IDC candidates can
also stay in the villa and can at all times
be at the place where the IDC happens. Staying
in a far away hotel, spending lots of time
on the road while driving to the IDC every
day, eat alone and prepare your presentations
for the next day alone doesn`t exist.
The PADI slogan „Diving
is fun“ is always present –
even there is a lot to learn during the
IDC. We laugh a lot, tease each other in
a funny way, have a good and close relation
to the Course Director and the Staff since
we cannot agree that the PADI slogan is
valid for all PADI diver courses but not
for an IDC.
Dive Sites
The dive sites are approximately
5 to 30 minutes by boat or car.
At present there are in total 20 dive sites,
10 sites for boat dives and 10 sites for
shore dives. Dive sites are spread over
about 50 km of coastline, in the area between
Marbella and Playa de Casares which is approx.
15 km south of Estepona. Therefore there
are many different dive sites.
How to find our main
centre
Coming from Málaga
direction; take the N 340 coast
road towards Cadiz/ Algeciras and continue
all the way around Marbella, then through
the town of San Pedro de Alcántara.
At the end of San Pedro there is a large
white arch spanning the road with the words
Marbella/ San Pedro. Approximately 1 km
after this arch you will find the exit signposted
'Benahavis'. Take this exit and you will
come to a roundabout where on your right
hand side is a petrol service station. Turn
to the left at this roundabout and go under
the N 340 road to the other side and towards
the sea. After you have gone under the main
road continue for about 200 m until you
see the word STOP painted on the road. Turn
to your left (water tower) follow this road
and the signposts for 'Atalaya Park Hotel'.
On the hotel premises you find us at the
beach.
Coming from Estepona
direction; take the N 340 road
towards Málaga/ Marbella. After about
10 km there is on your left hand side a
shopping center and shortly after a red
and blue house "the bed & sofa
centre".
Approximately 1 km past this red and blue
house there is a sign for 'Benahavis 250
m'. At this point on the right hand side
is the 'Unicaja' bank in a white building
with green windows and the exit for 'Isdabe'.
Take this exit, go under an arch with the
word 'Isdabe', and then immediately turn
left. Continue across another road and on
for about 200 metres, at which point you
must follow the road around to the right.
It will be signposted for 'Atalaya Park
Hotel'. On the hotel premises you find us
at the beach.
